Moto G XT1033: How to Manual Update/Flashing offline lollipop 5.0.2 Official Firmware from Kitkat 4.4.4

Hari ini saya mendapatkan notifikasi update Lollipop 5.0.2 di Moto g XT033 saya. Setelah penantian lama akhirnya update keparat yang ditunggu-tunggu nongol juga. Tentunya saya langsung semangat, dan langsung mengikuti langkah-langkah update OTA yang disediakan. Tapi apa daya, setelah donlod file update yang mencapai ukuran ratusan MB, ternyata update gagal ditengah jalan. Saya baru ingat, ternyata Moto G saya dalam keadaan rooted dan unlocked bootloader. Dulu saat muncul update kitkat 4.4.4 saya juga gagal update via OTA. Tapi bisa diakali lewat update/flashing manual. Nah bagi kalian yang mendapatkan pesan error dan gagal saat update Moto g ke lollypop via OTA, silahkan simak tutorial dibawah ini.

Today Motorola has officially released the android lollipop 5.0.2 update to moto G XT1033 model for Asian region. But, there is always "shit happens" when you update your moto G via OTA. Especially when your phone has rooted and Unlocked bootloader. Sometimes you will get an error message and the update is unfinished a.k.a failed. I've tried many ways like unrooted my phone, restore the recovery, erase the data, etc but still failed. If you have problems like me. actually you can settle this issue with flashing the firmware manually. As i did when i update my moto G from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4.

Dengan flashing firmware secara manual (offline non OTA) tentu ada sisi negatif dan positifnya. Sisi negatifnya semua data seperti sms, kontak, aplikasi di memori internal akan terhapus. Positifnya, karena ini merupakan "clean Install" jadi sistem yang ada didalam seperti baru lagi. Tidak ada Lag diawal, dan tentu saja meminimalisir error.

With manual flashing (Offline update non OTA) all the data in internal memory will be erased. So I recommend to you, before do this job, always backup your file. But you will get another benefits. Because this is like "clean Install," your system is like new. There is no laggy and minimize the errors because the previous system will be erased. Ok, Let's get started

What you need (required files):

- MotoG XT1033 Kitkat 4.4.4 ASIAN firmware on my google drive (XT1033_ASIA-DS_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.40_34_cid7_CFC_1FF.xml.zip) 

- Final Lollipop OTA update for ASIAN (special thx to: Saurabh Sandav) Blur_Version.220.21.28.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03.zip (lollipop 5.0.2 official)

- mfastboot-v2.zip 

- Kakeane.bat (optional)

 Manual Update/Flashing offline Kitkat 4.4.4 to lollipop 5.0.2 Official Firmware

Baiklah langkah yang pertama kali akan kita lakukan adalah flashing offline (manual) firmware asia kitkat 4.4.4. Pertama ekstrak firmware kitkat asia 4.4.4 dalam folder. Kedua, ekstrak mfastbootv2 ke folder yang sama dengan firmware asian kitkat 4.4.4 tadi.

After all required files downloaded, extract the asian 4.4.4 firmware and mfastboot-v2.zip into same folder. 

Masuk ke fastboot mode dengan cara matikan hape, tekan dan tahan tombol volume down+power secara bersamaan selama beberapa detik, lepaskan. Kemudian pasang kabe USB ke PC.

Enter the fastboot mode by press and holding volume down+power buttons for afewseconds, then release. After that attach the usb cable connected to PC. You are now at fastboot mode.

Dari sini anda sudah bisa  melakukan flashing firmware secara manual dengan command prompt (CMD), dengan perintah-perintah seperti yang dibawah ini. Tekan shift+klik kanan>> open command prompt here di folder untuk membuka CMD. ketik perintahnya kemudian enter. Anda juga bisa menyimpan perintah2 tersebut kedalam notepad dan menyimpannya di folder firmware 4.4.4 dengan ekstensi file (*.bat). Contohnya seperti punya saya "kakeane.bat" dengan begini anda tinggal ngeklik satu kali saja file tersebut dan otomatis firmware akan di flash.

You can now manually flash the 4.4.4 firmware using Command Prompt with following commands below. open the command prompt by holding shift key + right click on the empty space of firmware folder. Or you can simply write these down the commands to notepad and save with (*.bat) file extension (you can use mine:kakeane.bat), put this file on firmware 4.4.4. folder. Just run the kakeane.bat file and the firmware will be flashed.

Nah, setelah Moto g reboot. Copy file update OTA lolly pop ke memory internal smartphone, sebelumnya rename dulu namanya jadi Blur_Version.220.21.28.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03.zip agar file update tebaca oleh system. Setelah itu reboot, tak lama kemudian anda akan mendapatkan notifikasi untuk segera mengupdate firmware. nah ikuti saja langkahnya. Setelah itu hape akan reboot lagi dan membutuhkan waktu kira2 15- 20 menit sampai prose update benar-benar selesai..

After flashing asian 4.4.4 firmware, your phone will reboot. After that copy the Lollipop OTA update to your phone's internal memory. Make sure you rename the file to "Blur_Version.220.21.28.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03.zip." Then reboot your phone. you will get update notification. Just follow the steps. The update process will takes about 15-20 minutes. And Voila!! Your Moto G XT1033 is now running on Android lollipop 5.0.2.
